    Trent shares up 0.2% as Nifty gains

    Nifty continues to climb a wall of worry as it looks to be in the final leg of its rally before heading for a correction.
    NEW DELHI: Shares of Trent Ltd. traded 0.2 per cent up in Tuesday's trade at 11:05AM (IST). Around 1,824 shares changed hands on the counter.

    The stock opened at Rs 4700.0 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 4719.9 and Rs 4678.0, respectively, in the session so far. The stock of Trent Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 4799.3 and a 52-week low of Rs 1523.2.

    As per BSE, the total market cap of the Trent Ltd. stood at Rs 167080.22 crore at the time of writing this report.

    Key Financials
    The company reported consolidated sales of Rs 3374.57 crore for the quarter ended 31-Mar-2024, down 4.86 per cent from previous quarter's Rs 3546.95 crore and down 48.79 per cent from the year-ago quarter's Rs 2268.06 crore.

    The net profit for latest quarter stood at Rs 704.23 crore, up 1200.28 per cent from the same quarter a year ago.

    Shareholding pattern
    As of 31-Mar-2024, DIIs held 8.72 per cent stake in the company, while foreign institutional investors held 26.8 per cent and the promoters 37.01 per cent.


    Valuation ratio
    According to BSE data, the stock traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of 112.38 and a price-to-book ratio of 34.51. A higher P/E ratio shows investors are willing to pay a higher price because of better future growth expectations. Price-to-book value indicates the inherent value of a company and is the measure of the price that investors are ready to pay even for no growth in the business.
