    Court allows two-hour custody parole to Engineer Rashid to take oath as MP

    Kashmiri leader Sheikh Abdul Rashid, also known as Engineer Rashid, was granted custody parole to take his oath as a Lok Sabha MP. He had sought interim bail for the oath-taking and parliamentary functions. Rashid has been in Tihar jail since 2019 under the UAPA for alleged involvement in a terror funding case.

    ED gets 7-day remand of 'kingpin' in 2022 JKSSB SI paper leak case

    Yatin Yadav, the alleged kingpin in the 2022 JKSSB sub-inspector recruitment exam paper leak case, was remanded to seven-day Enforcement Directorate custody by a special court in Jammu. The case involves the cancellation of a selected list of candidates due to paper leak and malpractice. The ED is now investigating Yadav's alleged involvement in a scheme to access leaked papers for payments ranging from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 30 lakh.

    Delhi court asks NIA to respond to Engineer Rashid's interim bail plea by July 1

    A Delhi court has requested the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to respond to an application filed by Engineer Rashid, arrested in a 2017 Jammu and Kashmir terror funding case, seeking interim bail to take oath as an MP. Rashid, who defeated former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, has been in jail since 2019 after being charged under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act for his involvement in a terror funding case. The court fixed the matter for hearing on July 1, and directed the NIA to file its reply by then.

    A Delhi court has granted bail to Kashmiri separatist leader Shabir Ahmad Shah in a money laundering case related to alleged terror funding in Jammu and Kashmir. The court noted that Shah was in custody for six years and 10 months in the case in which the maximum punishment was seven years.
