The Kerala government has approved an ordinance aimed at protecting doctors, healthcare workers, and medical students. The ordinance will now be sent for the approval of the Kerala Governor. Anyone found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm to any healthcare worker or professional would be punished with imprisonment ranging from one year to seven years and a fine between Rs one lakh to Rs 5 lakh would be imposed upon them.

Initially the AI cameras will detect violations like driving a two-wheeler without wearing a helmet, traveling without wearing a seat belt, more than two people traveling on a two-wheeler, using mobile phones while driving, and red-light violation. As per the traffic department, the "Fully Automated Traffic Enforcement System" will inform the vehicle owner of the traffic violation via courier, e-mail and mobile phone within 24 hours of the alleged offence.
