    • Radha Mohan Singh began his political career as a student leader. In 1967, he was elected as the nagar pramukh of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) in Motihari
    • He next joined the Jana Sangh and was appointed its mandal secretary in 1969
    • In 1970, he became the organisational secretary of the Jana Sangh for the East Champaran region of Bihar
    • Singh then became a part of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and was named as the party’s general secretary in East Champaran in 1977
    • In 1988, he was made the president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) in Bihar
    • Singh was elected to the Lok Sabha for the first time in 1989 from Motihari. During this term, he was given charge as a member of the consultative committee in the Ministry of Communications and also as a member of the Standing Committee on Industry and Mines
    • In 1990, he was appointed as the general secretary of BJP in Bihar
    • He was re-elected for a second term in the Lok Sabha in 1996 and this time he became a member in the consultative committee of the Ministry of Railways and was also appointed to the Standing Committee on Communications as one of its members
    • Singh got a third term in Lok Sabha, which began in 1999. During this term, he was a member of the Standing Committee on Commerce, a member of the Standing Committee on Communications, a member of the consultative committee in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and a member of the Rajbhasha Committee of the Ministry of Surface Transport and the Ministry of External Affairs
    • In 2006, he became the state president of BJP in Bihar
    • His fourth term as a Lok Sabha member began in 2009 with him taking charge as a member of the consultative committee of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, a member of the Standing Committee on Energy, and in a few other committees as well
    • Singh was re-elected for a fifth term in the Lok Sabha in 2014 and was first appointed as the Union Cabinet Minister for Agriculture and then as the Union Cabinet Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare
    • He was then re-elected for a sixth term in the Lok Sabha in 2019 as was given charge as a member of the General Purposes Committee of the Lok Sabha, as a member of the consultative committee in the Ministry of Electronics and Information & Technology and the Ministry of Communications
    • In November 2020, he was appointed in-charge of politically crucial Uttar Pradesh; he also manages BJP’s affairs in Rajasthan

    • The Indian Army clarified the compensation provided to Agniveer Ajay Kumar’s family after Rahul Gandhi alleged that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh lied in parliament about emoluments. The Army emphasised that Rs 98.39 lakhs have already been paid to the family, with additional benefits totaling approximately 67 lakhs to be settled after Police verification, summing up to Rs 1.65 Cr.
