- Shah Rukh Khan’s journey of becoming a professional actor began when he started theatre training with acclaimed theatre trainer and director Barry John
- Soon after, he got cast and played prominent roles in TV shows like Fauji in 1988 and Circus in 1989
- The 1992 movie Deewana marked his entry into the Hindi film industry. Starring alongside Rishi Kapoor and Divya Bharti, he won the Filmfare award for best debut (male) for the film
- That year, he also gave successful movies such as Chamatkar and Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman
- In 1993, his portrayal of the antagonist in Baazigar and Darr was much appreciated by the audience; with the second one even getting him a Filmfare nod in the best performance in a negative role category
