Meerut: With as many as six girls as against four boys tied on the first three spots in Meerut district, girls took a lead in Meerut in Indian Certificate School Examination (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) results, which were declared on Monday afternoon. All the ICSE schools in Meerut remained abuzz with students soon after results were declared at 3pm.What acted as a cherry on the cake for the city was that the Class X and Class XII district toppers made it to the Delhi-NCR toppers’ list.
The pass percentage was almost 100% in Meerut with girls outshining boys.

While the Meerut district topper for Class X from Sophia Girls’ School Prashasti Sarraf scored 98.2% and managed to secure a place for herself on the third spot in the Delhi-NCR toppers’ list, the Class XII district topper Khushank Tyagi from St. Mary’s Academy, scored 98.75% and got the third rank in Delhi-NCR.
In Class X, at 98% Vanshita Garg from Sophia Girls’ School secured the second rank. As many as five students were tied at the third spot in Meerut. The five students who scored 97.4% and got the third rank in the district were Vranda Teotia , Rashi Singh and Soumya Bansal — all from Sophia Girls’ School — besides Kartikey Dhall and Bhavya Singhal from St. Mary’s Academy.
In Class X, 100 remained the highest scored marks in Maths, History Civics and Geography, Computer Science and Science.
Sharing her success mantra, Class X topper Prashasti Sarraf said, “I have always believed in self-study and remained away from social media and cell phones as they can always follow later in life. It is only because I focused on self-study so much that I could secure this much.”
While Khushank Tyagi from St. Mary’s Academy remained the Class XII topper in Meerut district apart from securing the third rank in Delhi-NCR, the second spot was bagged by Devyanshi Tyagi from Sophia Girls’ School with 98.5% followed by Kartik Garg from St. Mary’s Academy who settled at the third rank with 95.75%.

In Class XII, 100 remained the highest scored marks in Maths, Physics and Computer Science.
Sayed (who goes by his first name), Maths teacher at St. Mary’s Academy, said, “The Maths result of the school has improved exceptionally. In fact, in Class XII, our school has seven students with 100 marks in Maths and in Class X, as many as nine students have secured 100 in the subject.”
There are two other ISC schools in Meerut – St. Thomas English Medium School and All Saints School – but their students could not make it to the top three ranks of the district.
