Sagar election results 2024 live updates: BJP's Lata Wankhede wins

NEW DELHI: The results of an election are presented, where Dr. Lata wankhede of the Bharatiya Janata Party emerged victorious with 787979 votes, gaining 471222 votes compared to the previous election. Chandra Bhusan Singh Bundela 'Guddu Raja' of the Indian National Congress secured the second position but lost by 471222 votes.
Bhagwati Prasad Jatav of the Bahujan Samaj Party, Bheekam Singh Kushwaha of the Mahanwadi Party, and Ram Bhajan Bansal of the Samata Party also contested the election but lost, with a decrease in votes compared to the previous election.Mohamad Aarif Makrani, Sangram Singh Yadav, Dharmendra Banpuriya, Toshmani Panthi (Kanna), and Suresh Bansal, all contesting as independents, also lost the election.
Other candidates who lost the election include Laxmi Kushwaha of the Pichhara Samaj Party United, dr. Ramavatar Sharma of the Socialist Unity Centre of India (communist), and Ahirwar Rajkumar Thekedaar, another independent candidate. The NOTA (None of the above) option received 7657 votes, which is a decrease of 780322 votes compared to the previous election.
The Sagar Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 29 parliamentary constituencies in Madhya Pradesh. The polling date for the Sagar Lok Sabha Constituency was scheduled for April 26, phase 2 of the Lok Sabha election.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the schedule for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections on March 16.

The voter turnout recorded for this seat was 65.75 percent, as per the data released by the Election Commission of India.
The Sagar constituency comprises 8 Legislative Assemblies, Bina (SC), Khurai, Surkhi, Naryoli (SC), Sagar, Kurwai (SC), Sironj, and Shamshabad. The constituency was established in 1952.
In the 2024 candidates list for the Sagar Lok Sabha Constituency, prominent contenders include Smt. Lata Wankhede from the Bharatiya Janata Party and Guddu Raja Bundela from the Indian National Congress.

During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP candidate, Rajbahadur Singh, emerged victorious with an impressive margin of 3,05,542 votes, securing a total of 6,46,231 votes. Rajbahadur Singh defeated Prabhu Singh Thakur of the INC, who scored 3,40,689 votes.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Laxmi Narayan Yadav of the BJP emerged victorious, defeating Govind Singh Rajput of the Congress. Yadav secured 482,580 votes, while Rajput received 361,843 votes.
