Khichdi 2: Mission Paanthukistan box office collection: Aatish Kapadia's film goes into a downward spiral on Day 5

Aatish Kapadia and JD Majethia’s Khichdi 2 had a decent performance on the first two days, but Sunday onwards the film went into a downward spiral. On Sunday, its business was severely impacted because of the India Vs Australia World Cup Finals. But come Monday the film has failed to pick up where it left off things on Sunday. The film had collected Rs 55 lakh on Sunday and on Monday it dropped to Rs 39 lakh.On Tuesday the film collected Rs 35 lakh as per early estimates recorded by industry tracker Sacnilk. The total collection of the film today stands at Rs 3.74 crore.

Khichdi 2 released just 5 days after Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger 3, which is inching towards collecting Rs 250 crore nett at the box office. Even Tiger 3 has been severely impacted by the World Cup Finals and post that its collection has also failed to gain momentum. Salman was very confident that the film will pick up once the World Cup is over, but that is not happening currently.
Directed by Aatish Kapadia, Khichdi 2 features Supriya Pathak, Rajeev Mehta, Anang Desai, Vandana Pathak, Kirti Kulhari, and actor-producer Jamnadas Majethia (JD) in prominent roles. Originating as a stage play, Khichdi centers on the quirks of a Mumbai-based Gujarati joint family. It subsequently transformed into a sitcom, web series, and film. The sequel, an adventure comedy, arrives 13 years after the initial release.
