Abhishek Das bags two new films

Actor Abhishek Das is on a roll, having signed two new movies, Naguvina Hoogala Melee, and an as-yet-untitled project, directed by debutante Sai Naveen.
The young actor, currently seen in the popular soap opera Gattimela as Vikranth Vasishta, is happy to make inroads into the Sandalwood industry, despite his last release being Ambi Ning Vayassaytho in 2018.
“I have been getting performance-oriented roles which I don’t want to miss.
If there was no pandemic, I would have had a couple of releases. Naguvina Hoogala Mele is a romantic comedy which sees me sharing screen space with Gattimela co-star Sharanya Shetty. I play the role of a safety engineer and I meet the female protagonist who is a doctor and how we get along in our journey forms the major storyline. We have almost completed shooting the talkie portions. “
Sharing details about his new project with Sai Naveen, he adds, “I essay the role of a married man who is having a rift with his wife. He is obsessed with money and doesn’t value relationships which lands him in trouble. It’s a suspense thriller which is new for me.”
Meanwhile, the actor, who was supposed to play antagonist in the Prajwal Devaraj-starrer, Mafia, has opted out of the project. “Director Gurudutt Ganiga was replaced by Lohith, so the team has changed completely. That’s why I quit the project,” he explains.
Abhishek also has Hostel Hudugaru Bekagidhare in the pipeline, which sees him in the role of a college student.
