A great couple of days at IIEX research & innovation conf. in Bangkok 🇹🇭 Some takeaways… - No spoiler alert here but AI has the potential to 5 X the qualitative research industry market size over the next 5 or so years … that’s hockey stick growth projections but very doable given the pace of adoption we are seeing 🏒 - Almost every research platform is leveraging AI in unique ways —> from designing discussion guides, AI moderating research interviews, translating multi-country languages for interviews and screening participants (including thousands of dialects across the world) realtime multi-language translation has been so challenging until now, but now we are beginning to see the light 💡 ++ so much more awesome stuff - The shift to conversational research is real. Keeping participants engaged during a study with AI prompts is a game changer. Engagement levels of participants are up and the quality of insights is up as well 🆙 I can see companies investing a lot more in qualitative research over the next few years … because gathering highly contextual insights at scale is powerful for businesses — faster time to insights, decisions, and innovation (what’s not to like!) Shout out to those that made it happen Entropik Bolt Insight QuestionPro Behaviorally Greenbook Hakan Yurdakul Lava Kumar Shibani Philip Maya Ilic Karen Lynch ++ everyone else!

We've seen exponential growth in our global panel, especially in Brazil, India and Europe. These new participants are now available to speak with.
Research opportunities are global We are seeing an increasing number of participants being recruited for research studies outside the USA. Here is a snapshot of participant growth numbers in our fastest-growing markets. Brazil & India were the top %+ movers over Q4, 23’ – driven by a growing number of product & research teams wanting to gain a deeper understanding of these markets. Some of the driving forces behind the increasing volumes of research outside of the USA.... • Established brands looking to gain a deeper understanding of secondary markets where they have historically paid less attention • Early-stage companies prioritizing new markets where there is less competition and an opportunity to capture a bigger % of a smaller market • As product teams build offerings in niche verticals, they rely on capturing 50%+ of that vertical globally to reach scale – launching in multiple countries early on becomes critical to their success

The origin story of Respondent involved Jack Pratten walking the streets looking for research participants. From that very manual beginning, our panel has grown to 3 million+ and powers research around the world.
Just came across this NY subway map we marked up back when we started Respondent in 2017. We used this as a reminder and motivator that finding anyone and everyone for a research study was actually possible. I remember when we had 100’s of participants between Brooklyn and Manhattan ….. but thanks to our amazing team and participants, we have scaled this up to 3m+ participants with ~70k new participants joining per month across 250 countries.
