    F&O Ban: SAIL, GMR Airports among 6 stocks under trade ban on Wednesday

    Synopsis

    Six stocks were under the F&O trade ban on Monday, including Balrampur Chini, GMR Airports Infrastructure, Hindustan Copper, India Cements, SAIL, and Zee Entertainment. Traders in the index do not face security bans based on MWPL criteria.

    Six stocks are under the Future & Options (F&O) trade ban on Monday viz. Balrampur Chini, GMR Airports Infrastructure, Hindustan Copper, India Cements, SAIL and Zee Entertainment.

    Balrampur Chini, India Cements, SAIL, and Zee Entertainment were in the ban on Tuesday as well, while GMR Airports and Hindustan Copper are new entrants.

    The F&O contracts of any stock enter the ban period when the open interest (OI) on it crosses 95% of the market-wide positions limits or MWPL. The ban is reversed only if the open interest falls below 80%.

    Traders who trade in the index do not encounter a situation of security ban.

    The MWPL for Balrampur Chini Mills stood at 98.9% on Tuesday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 12.1 million. It was up by 2.2% from the previous session.

    The MWPL for GMR Airports Infrastructure stood at 104.6% on Tuesday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 254 million. It was up by 4.5% from the previous session.

    The MWPL for Hindustan Copper stood at 107.3% on Tuesday with OI reported at 33 million. It was down by 2% from the previous session.

    The MWPL for India Cements stood at 101.2% on Tuesday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 26.2 million. It was down by 1.12% from the previous session.

    The MWPL for SAIL stood at 93% on Tuesday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 165.9 million. It was up by 0.33% from the previous session.

    The MWPL for Zee Entertainment stood at 80.9% on Tuesday with OI reported by Trendlyne at 125 million. It was up by 0.85% from the previous session.

    Indian benchmark equity indices, Sensex and Nifty50, closed flat in a volatile trading session on Tuesday, ahead of the Fed's policy decision and consumer price inflation data on Wednesday.

    The BSE benchmark Sensex fell 33 points, or 0.04%, to settle at 76,456, while the Nifty50 gained 6 points, or 0.02%, to end at 23,265.
