NEW DELHI: Global markets are cautious ahead of Fed policy outcome, but back home, investors are keenly awaiting key corporate earnings scheduled for later in the day.

Let's check out what all might matter to Dalal Street all through the day:

Singapore trading sets stage for a tepid start
Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange were trading 7.50 points, or 0.07 per cent, lower at 10,686.50, indicating a tepid start for the Nifty50.

    Nifty forms 'Long-Legged Doji' candle
Nifty50 on Tuesday dropped for the third session in a row and, in the process, formed a ‘Long Legged Doji’ candle on the daily chart. A small pullback rally cannot be ruled out, but analysts said investors would do well to opt for a sell-on-rise strategy. The 10,550-580 range may offer some support to the index, they said. For the day, Nifty fell 9.35 points, or 0.09 per cent, to close at 10,652.

    F&O rollovers at 49%
Market-wide rollovers till Tuesday stood at 49 per cent on the D-2, which is higher than average rollover of 44 per cent seen in the comparable period of last three series. Nifty futures rollover at 39 per cent were in line with the average rollovers of last three series.

    Asian shares eke out gains
US stock futures and Asian equities eked out modest gains on Wednesday as investors seized on Apple Inc’s earnings and comments from its chief that US-China trade tensions were easing, sending the iPhone maker’s shares soaring in after-hours trade, Reuters reported. S&P 500 e-mini futures tacked on 0.1 percent in early trade while MSCI’s broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan edged up 0.05 per cent.

    US stocks edge lower
Wall Street shares dipped on Tuesday, with S&P 500 losing 0.15 percent as technology-related shares were dogged by a string of weak results while a rebound in 3M and other industrials helped the Dow Jones Industrial Average squeeze out small gains, Reuters reported.

    Rupee ends flat
The rupee Tuesday ended flat at 71.11 against the US dollar, with focus shifting to the Fed policy meet and US China trade talks. The forex market sentiment got revived towards the fag-end trade offseting early losses amid increased selling of dollar by exporters. The rupee opened on a weak note at 71.19 then fell to 71.22. The local unit, however, erased the initial gains and settled for the day at 71.11, up 1 paisa over its previous close.

    5 Jet planes grounded
Financial turmoil at Jet Airways has begun to impact its operations with five aircraft getting grounded at various airports across the country on Tuesday and 19 flights getting cancelled.

NSEL Scam: EOW mulls attachment of broker assets
The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Mumbai police, investigating the Rs 5,600-crore National Spot Exchange (NSEL) payment scam, has sought legal opinion on whether it can attach the assets of non-defaulting brokers who engaged in trading of illegal paired contracts for clients and earned brokerage from them, said people aware of the development.
