Share market update: Most active stocks on D-Street today in terms of volume

NEW DELHI: Vodafone Idea(number of shares traded: 22.84 crore), RattanIndia Power (number of shares traded: 15.47 crore), BEL(number of shares traded: 7.62 crore), Indian Railway Fin(number of shares traded: 6.93 crore), YES Bank(number of shares traded: 6.35 crore), Aptus Value Housing(number of shares traded: 4.07 crore), NHPC(number of shares traded: 3.24 crore), Rail Vikas Nigam(number of shares traded: 3.01 crore), SAIL(number of shares traded: 2.16 crore) and IRB Infra Dev.(number of shares traded: 1.97 crore) were among the most traded securities on the National Stock Exchange at 10:19AM in Tuesday's session.

The NSE Nifty index was trading 36.41 points down at 22465.6, while BSE Sensex was down 215.3 points at 73790.64 at the time of writing this report.

In the Nifty index, Coal India Ltd.(up 3.05 per cent), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 2.77 per cent), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 2.43 per cent), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 1.91 per cent) and Tata Steel Ltd.(up 1.76 per cent) were among the top gainers.

While Nestle India Ltd.(down 1.86 per cent), Axis Bank Ltd.(down 1.21 per cent), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 1.04 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.98 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(down 0.95 per cent) were among the top losers in the index.
