Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed higher in the Wednesday's session.

Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd.(up 4.08%), National Fertilizers Ltd.(up 3.06%), Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd.(up 2.74%), Aries Agro Ltd.(up 2.48%), Krishana Phoschem Ltd.(up 2.37%), Paradeep Phosphates Ltd.(up 2.29%), Coromandel International Ltd.(up 2.27%), Madhya Bharat Agro Products Ltd.(up 2.14%), Gujarat State Fertilizer & Chemicals Ltd.(up 2.03%) and Madras Fertilizers Ltd.(up 1.56%) stood among the top gainers.

Sikko Industries Ltd.(down 3.32%), Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd.(down 2.39%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd.(down 1.71%), Rama Phosphates Ltd.(down 1.28%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(down 1.18%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation Ltd.(down 0.50%), Agro Phos India Ltd.(down 0.22%) and Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd.(down 0.05%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 147.5 points up at 23868.8, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 620.73 points at 78674.25.

Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 4.12%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(up 3.15%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(up 2.74%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(up 1.68%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 1.41%), Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 1.31%), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(up 1.19%), NTPC Ltd.(up 1.17%), Axis Bank Ltd.(up 1.1%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 1.06%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 2.52%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 2.0%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 1.92%), Tata Steel Ltd.(down 1.78%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 1.58%), Cipla Ltd.(down 1.38%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 1.16%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.04%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.03%) and Titan Company Ltd.(down 0.88%) closed in the red.
