Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Monday at 11:25AM

Indowind Energy Ltd.(up 8.21%), Voltamp Transformers Ltd.(up 6.69%), Inox Wind Energy Ltd.(up 5.00%), Transformers & Rectifiers(India)Ltd.(up 5.00%), GE T&D India Ltd.(up 5.00%), Indo Tech Transformers Ltd.(up 5.00%), Hitachi Energy India Ltd.(up 4.55%), Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd.(up 3.65%), India Power Corporation Ltd.(up 1.97%) and Jyoti Structures Ltd.(up 1.93%) were among the top gainers.

Neueon Towers Ltd.(down 5.22%), Kalpataru Projects International Ltd.(down 2.19%), Power and Instrumentation(Gujarat)Ltd.(down 2.02%), NTPC Ltd.(down 1.79%), CESC Ltd.(down 1.60%), GE Power India Ltd.(down 1.41%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 0.82%), Torrent Power Ltd.(down 0.70%), Tata Power Company Ltd.(down 0.61%) and NLC India Ltd.(down 0.61%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 88.0 points up at 24098.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 266.25 points at 79298.98 at around 11:25AM.

Wipro Ltd.(up 3.3%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 2.24%), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 1.93%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 1.71%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 1.43%), Infosys Ltd.(up 1.29%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 1.28%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 1.24%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 1.2%) and Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 1.2%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, NTPC Ltd.(down 1.8%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd.(down 1.05%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.03%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 1.01%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(down 0.86%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(down 0.81%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 0.75%), State Bank of India(down 0.59%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(down 0.55%) and IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.43%) were trading in the red.
