PANAJI: The directorate of technical education (DTE) has deferred the Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) 2022 to June 27 and 28 due to the pandemic-related delay in the academic calendar. GCET for 2022 was to be held on May 11 and 12.
“GCET 2022, earlier scheduled to be conducted on May 11 and 12, is deferred and shall be conducted on June 27 and 28. However, the dates shall be confirmed only 10 days prior to the exam.The procedure and schedule of acceptance of application forms for GCET-2022 shall be duly notified on the DTE website,” the DTE said in a notice.

GCET is held for admissions to degree programme seats in engineering and pharmacy in Goa. The test consists of an objective type question paper of 75 marks each in the subjects of physics, chemistry and mathematics. It is conducted with the help of a team from IIT Bombay. The answer sheets are machine readable, which ensures declaration of results in less than a week from the time the test ends.
Around 2,800 students appear for GCET each year in Goa.
