VSS literary award for TOI’s Barkha Mathur

NAGPUR: TOI’s Barkha Mathur is among 19 winners of the literary awards to be conferred by Vidarbha Sahitya Sangh (VSS). The awards will be presented in memory of eminent litterateurs from Vidarbha on January 14 during 96th Foundation Day programme of VSS.
Dr Aruna Dhere, president of Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Sahitya Sammelan of Yavatmal, will be the chief guest at the programme.
Mathur will be conferred Harikishan Agrawal Smruti Patrakarita Puraskar.
Other winners include Supriya Iyer (P Y Deshpande Smruti Kadambari award), Shripad Kothe (Mirashi Smruti Vaicharik Wangamay Puraskar), Dr Shirish Gopal Deshpande (Annasaheb Khaparde Smruti Atmacharitra Lekhan Puraskar), Dr Amruti Indurkar (Kusumanil Smruti Samiksha Lekhan Puraskar), Irfan Sheikh (Sarvotkrushtha Kavyalekhan Puraskar), Vasant Vahokar (W K Chorghade Smruti Kathalekhan Puraskar), and Dr Vijaya Phadnis (Dr Y K Deshpande Smruti Shastriya Lekhan Puraskar.
Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Smruti Lekhan Puraskar will be given to Dr Sanjay Nathe, Sant Gadge Baba Smruti Lekhan Puraskar to Gangadhar Dhoble, Dr M G Deshmukh Smruti Sant Sahitya Puraskar to Pramod Garode, Navodit Sahitya Lekhan Puraskar to Avinash Poinkar and Sanhamitra Khandare, Shantaram Katha Puraskar to Dr Hrishikesh Gupte, and Kavivarya Grace Smruti Yugwanitil Sarvotkrushtha Lekhan Puraskar to DG Kale.
Besides, Dr Pravin Narayan Mahajan (Vishesh Ullekhaniya Puraskar), Shekhar Soni (special award on 125h anniversary of Dr Ambedkar), Pramod Wadnerkar (Ullekhaniya Lekhan Puraskar) and VSS Buldana branch (Best Branch Award) will also be felicitated.
