Basabdatta excited to work in a music video for the first time

She has been a household name for years after her successful outing in television and films. Now, Basabdatta Chatterjee has made her music video debut and she is super excited to work in a music video for the first time. The video has been made on late singer Jagjit Singh’s famous ghazal ‘Kabhi Khamosh Baithoge’. The soul-stirring ghazal has been rendered by Arnab Biswas this time while the story, screenplay, dialogues and direction are by Anuraag Pati.

Not only Basabdatta, but the music video also features singer Arnab himself along with Biswajit Chakraborty and Riddhiman Mitra.
“I have seen these kinds of works before but have never worked in a music video. Arnab da has sung the ghazal beautifully and our music video has been picturized on it. It’s a unique experience. I said yes the moment I heard the song. In the video, Arnab da will be seen as my music teacher. This is also the first time he acted on camera. Overall, this is a wonderful experience and I would love to be a part of these kinds of projects more,” shared an excited Basabdatta.

Speaking about the music video, Arnab says, "When I made my friends, colleagues and family members listen to the dry run of this song, heaps of encouragement and appreciation came my way. I always had in my mind to showcase my craft in a storytelling format the visual way. And what better way than a music video? So the urge to be a part of a productive output intrigued me and I had put in my earnest effort and started to plan things. And I must say, my talented and creative friends Sourav, the cinematographer and Anurag, the director of this music video went beyond their ways to help me out.”

He’s also happy to collaborate with Basabdatta, “I was really impressed with Basabdatta's acting skills and when our director Anurag conceived her character, we felt she is the best choice to pull of such a poignant role with the grey shades so predominant in her character. Basab is known for flair in acting with so many films, national and international accolades in her kitty, she is always setting new benchmarks for herself by adding new layers of excellence in her varied roles that she portrays”
