People should be able to connect to my character, even if it is a small role: Sonal Monteiro
Actor Sonal Monteiro is on a roll. After delivering back to back hits last year, she has a slew of films lined up for 2023 and now, the latest is that she has been chosen to play the lead opposite Komal Kumar in comedy drama Rolex.
Speaking about her role, Sonal said, “I play a rich spoilt brat, who has a millionaire’s lifestyle. What happens when she accidentally ends up among the commoners forms the story. The script is really good and I have a great screen space. My screen space is the reason why I chose this film. I am really looking forward to working with Komal sir and the whole team.”
“I want people to remember me for my roles. No matter how small the role is, I always want my character arc to connect with the audience. When people walk in to the theatres, they should like my character, and they should like the film. Take Darshan sir’s Roberrt for instance. I had a small role, but still people showered love for my role,” she adds.
Rolex is all set to go on the floors on January 26th. Directed by Srinivasa Mandya, who has previously helmed Bill Gates, the film also has Rangayana Raghu, Sharath Lohitshwa, and Shobraj in pivotal roles.
Sonal has several projects lined up for 2023. She has Madeva, Garadi, Sugar Factory, Mr Natwarlal, Talwarpete, Buddhivanta-2 and Sarojini.
