Actor Raai Laxmi is returning to Malayalam cinema, after a break of six years with ‘DNA’. She is essaying the role of an IPS officer named Rachel Punnoose in the upcoming film. The makers of the film have locked the release date. The team is eyeing a festival release, during Bakrid. ‘DNA’ is slated for release on June 14.
The actress will be returning to M-Town after six years.
Her last film in Malayalam was ‘Oru Kuttanadan Blog’. She essayed the leading lady opposite Mammootty in the film released in 2018.
'DNA' is touted to be a suspense crime thriller. T.S. Suresh Babu is directing teh film. Talking to IANS earlier, Raai Laxmi expressed her excitement of returning to M-Town. “As an actor, I have made my mark with South Indian film industry, especially Malayalam films, and they say if you work in Malayalam film industry, you are a certified actor and that's a great validation since they are known for content,” she said.

Meanwhile, Raai Laxmi recently celebrated her birthday. She celebrated her birthday in Phuket, Thailand, this year. Following her birthday she penned a gratitude note for all those who poured in wishes.
