Sreejith Vijay to make his Bollywood debut

Amar Colony is expected to wrap up shooting by the third week of November
Sreejith Vijay to make his Bollywood debut
The past two years, Sreejith Vijay has been exploring different avenues as an actor. While he starred in two TV serials, Avaril Oraal and Swathi Nakshathram Chothi, his latest venture could be his biggest yet. The actor is currently shooting for a Bollywood feature film titled Amar Colony, which is directed by Siddharth Chauhan.
On how he clinched the role, Sreejith tells us, “I was approached by the team through a casting agency a few months ago, and I had an audition.
After that they offered me the role.”
The film is a relationship drama that is shot entirely in Shimla. Further on its plot, Sreejith says, “It’s about three families who live in a chawl. My character and his wife are tenants there while the other two rooms are occupied by an older lady and her son, and another elderly couple.” Sreejith plays Aakarshan, an insurance agent in the film. “He and his pregnant wife Meera share a unique relationship,” he says, adding that debutante Nimisha Nair essays the character of his wife.
On the experience of filming his Bollywood debut, the actor says, “The movie is shot in sync sound. There are a lot of monkeys in the area where we are shooting and to begin the filming, we have to shoo them away first. Also, the team has been helping me with the Hindi diction.”
Amar Colony is expected to wrap up shooting by the third week of November and the makers are planning to send it to film festivals first, says the actor.
