‘Ullozhukku’ box office collection day 11: Urvashi and Parvathy Thiruvothu starrer sees a major dip on the second Monday
Ullozhukku,’ starring Urvashi and Parvathy Thiruvothu, has experienced a significant downturn at the box office on its second Monday. According to early estimates by Sacnilk, the film earned only Rs 6 lakh on Monday, July 1, which also marks its eleventh day in the theatres. This is a notable drop from the previous day's earnings, as the film had seen a major surge on Sunday, June 30, collecting Rs 35 lakh.
Directed by Christo Tomy, ‘Ullozhukku’ had shown promise over the weekend, but the sharp decline in Monday’s box office numbers raises concerns about its continued performance.
The film, which had garnered attention for its strong performances by Urvashi and Parvathy Thiruvothu, now faces a critical period where maintaining momentum will be essential. The reasons behind the sudden dip in collections could be varied, ranging from competition with other releases including the big ticket releases like ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ to audience turnout on weekdays. The coming days will be crucial in determining the film's overall success at the box office.
‘Ullozhukku’ also has actors such as Alencier Ley Lopez, Arjun Radhakrishnan, Prasanth Murali, Jaya Kurup, and Veena Nair among others. Since its release, 'Ullozhukku' has been receiving rave reviews from both audiences and critics.

ETimes rated ‘Ullozhukku’ 3.5 out of 5, and wrote, “In how many ways can Urvashi show sorrow? The actress shows her tremendous range, ability to carry a film and screen presence in a story where she is largely required to be a grieving mother. It seems to be a while since Malayalam has had a film driven by such emotional turbulence. It reminds one of ‘80s and ‘90s films directed and written by greats like Padmarajan, Bharathan, Adoor Gopalakrishnan and MT. Ullokuzhukku is definitely a theatre movie, with a story that will leave you stirred and wiping away tears at the end.”
