"My husband is stealing money from our joint account for someone else"
Query: I have caught my husband stealing money from our joint account sometimes. I have also seen his receipts for buying certain gifts that I haven't received yet. I think he is stealing money for someone else. Should I confront him?
Advice by Shivani Misri Sadhoo, Psychologist and Relationship Expert: It is surely a big concern when you feel or know that your husband has stolen money.
But, as a partner it is also important to know that before you put the blame on your husband try, to get to the root of the issue. Thus, avoid the blame game. Try to be calm and direct about what has occurred and how you were able to find out. Avoid accusing your partner of being a thief or a liar and pay attention on instead on how you felt about what has occurred. Ask questions. Be as sincere and direct as possible so that you can both discuss the issue at hand and if possible, try to get it resolved.
