Lockdown has affected every industry, but small-scale industries like hand-looming are one of the most affected ones. Also, the demand for western outfits and materials are also affecting the traditional Indian handloom clothes and designs. Shedding light on the same, Mazhya Navryachi Bayko actor Abhijeet Khandkekar wrote a quirky post on social media on the occasion of Gudi Padwa.
Abhijeet posted his pictures with wife Sukhada celebrating Gudi Padwa, in which the couple can be spotted draped in a handloom Kurta and saree, respectively.
Abhijeet wished everyone a very happy new year in his social media post and urged fans to buy at least a handloom cloth to support weavers during lockdown.

He wrote, "Since last year, the COVID-19 has affected everyone in different ways. And it has mainly affected tons of embroidery workers and weavers who are staying somewhere in the corners of the country whose livelihood is based on this profession. Already the changing fashion trends have sidelined this art and artists the most. I would urge everyone to add at least a handloom cloth to their wardrobe. This small step will definitely bring the smallest positive change in their lives. Wish you all a very healthy Marathi new year from all of us."
Abhijeet was last seen in Mazhya Navryachi Bayko opposite Anita Date.
