The fairytale is over in the US for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as the pair fall out of favour with Americans, a US-based royal commentator has claimed.

Lee Cohen said that the Sussexes once "epitomised a modern fairytale", but now believes their "whining" has changed all that - and the US’s love affair with the pair has "significantly cooled".

He wrote in The US Sun: "Harry and Meghan just love to complain. And in America’s largely optimistic society, that is a bad look.

"While some view the couple’s openness as a brave stance against institutional rigidity, many others perceive it as ungrateful and divisive.

"A segment of Americans, particularly those of us who respect and admire the monarchy, find these repeated criticisms disrespectful and unbecoming. So the Sussexes’ endless narrative of grievance has alienated many who once admired their candour."

Cohen highlighted a number of events that have alienated the Sussexes from American citizens - from the infamous Oprah interview through to the publication of Harry's autobiography Spare.

Royal expert tears into Meghan Markle after she said 'she had rotten time in UK'

Meghan Markle has been torn apart by a royal expert who countered her claims that she had a "rotten time" when she moved to the UK due to her relationship with Prince Harry.

Royal commentator Michael Cole argued on GB News that Meghan was welcomed into the Royal Family as a "breath of fresh air". He said: "Weren't they well-received in this country? Look how welcomed they were."

Cole also made reference to Omid Scobie's book about the couple, Endgame, saying: "In the book the Duchess of Sussex says she never wants to come to Britain again, she never felt comfortable here.

"She had a terribly rotten time. Well I'm sure that's a surprise to the people who stood 20 deep in Windsor Great Park and cheered them on their wedding day.

"There was universal welcome in the media to the Sussexes as a breath of fresh air and a welcome addition to the Royal Family.

"One wonders what they've got to worry about, there they are living in California in a hilltop fortress with two healthy, beautiful children.

"They've got lots of friends, lots of money, lots of praise, lots of fame and lots of interesting things to do."

Meghan Markle shows true colours with tragic blog post about dad Thomas Markle

Meghan Markle's now-defunct blog The Tig gave a touching insight into her complicated relationship with her father, Thomas Markle Senior, whom she has now been estranged from for six years.

She wrote on Father's Day: "Our club sandwich and fruit smoothie tradition post my tap and ballet class - classes, which by the way, he religiously took me to on Saturday mornings after working 75+ hours a week as a lighting director."

The Duchess signed off the emotional post by writing: "To my dad - my thoughtful, inspiring, hardworking Daddy - Happy Father's Day. 'If I had all the water in the world, I'd give all the water to you…' (You won't get that quote, but he will. And for Father's Day, that's all that matters)."

Meghan wrote in a separate post: "On Christmas morning, swathed in glitter-flecked wrapping paper, there I found my Heart Family: a black mom doll, a white dad doll, and a child in each color. My dad had taken the sets apart and customized my family.

"I picture him standing there in Toys R Us, moms glaring at him for taking the toys apart, perhaps an employee saying 'excuse me sir, you can’t do that' — as my dad carefully separated the boxed sets to make one that echoed my reality. One that showed me that I should (and could) make my own box."

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's 'perfect way back' into Royal Family exposed

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet could be Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's way back into the Royal Family, an expert has claimed.

Speaking on GB News back in January, host Patrick Christys told royal expert Kinsey Schofield that the pair could "surely use the grandkids as a way back" into the family. To which, she agreed that this would be the "perfect" way back into the Firm.

She said: "If Harry did want a way back in he could use the excuse that despite his personal beef with King Charles, he wants his children to have a relationship with their grandfather, it would be the perfect way back wouldn't it?

"Well don't forget according to reports when Prince Harry received the phone call that he was being evicted from Frogmore Cottage, he said to his father 'don't you want to see your grandkids anymore?'

"So you are exactly right if there is a way in, Harry is already thinking about it."

Meghan Markle leaves friends 'hurt' before launching into 'damage control'

Meghan Markle has reportedly “hurt” the feelings of her Hollywood friends after “distancing” herself from fellow Suits cast members during her relationship with Prince Harry, an insider has claimed.

Speaking to GB News, a source revealed that there are a lot of “hurt feelings” between Meghan and her former A-list friends after the Duchess “distanced herself” from other members of the cast.

The source added: “It’s pretty insulting and the feeling is that she ought to be a lot more loyal to her roots.”

The source suggested Meghan “seemed to want to get as far away from [the show] as possible” after her relationship with Prince Harry became more serious.

Her invitation for former friends to appear on her podcast was described as “pretty tone deaf” by the unnamed source, who also suggested the Duchess would need to “do some serious damage control” to have a chance of winning her friends back over.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s final straw with royals after ‘photo snub’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to pull the plug on their senior royal roles once they were "snubbed" from a certain photo, an expert has claimed.

The late Queen Elizabeth II released a photo with her three heirs - the then Prince Charles, Prince William and Prince George in the throne room at Buckingham Palace.

Two days after its release, Harry and Meghan revealed that they would be officially leaving the Firm.

Royal author Andrew Morton wrote in his book ‘Meghan: A Hollywood Princess’: “The royal couple suspected that the entire institution was conspiring against them. As they saw it, the evidence was all around them. The unspoken code was straightforward: the future of the monarchy was assured, with or without Meghan and Harry.

"Harry was having conversations in a London hotel with Oprah Winfrey back in November 2018, just six months after they'd been married. So they were thinking about a different direction of travel pretty early on."

Real reason Prince Harry has been forced to backtrack on major development with his book

Prince Harry's bombshell memoir Spare has still not been reloeased in paperback despite the hardback version hitting shelves in January 2023, and an expert has revealed why.

Ephraim Hardcastle, wrote for the MailOnline: "Publishers are usually swift to get one on the market, especially if they can market it as containing sensational new material.

"But it seems Harry has no new spare excitement to impart. His family has kept him at arms length, aware that anything they say could be taken down and used in evidence against them.

"The only exclusives Harry could offer relate to his view of the Coronation from behind Aunt Anne's plumed hat and how he nipped in to Buck House en route to Heathrow to use the loo. Too much information, Harry?"

Prince Harry’s huge regret after ‘blindsiding’ announcement when he left royals for Meghan

Prince Harry regrets how he "blindsided" the late Queen Elizabeth II in their decision to quit as working members of the Royal Family, an insider has claimed.

According to The Telegraph, a source said: "I don't think he fully appreciated the impact the statement would have in terms of them not consulting the Queen. He regrets that."

This "hurt" and "exhausted" late Queen then called an urgent family meeting, now known as the Sandringham Summit, to discuss the situation.

She told a royal insider: "I don't want to think about it anymore."

Following the meeting, she then issued a rare statement saying: "Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved members of my family.

"I recognise the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life."

Whilst walking the red carpet, Harry is said to have told filmmaker Jon Favreau: "If there's anyone who needs any extra voiceovers, we can make ourselves available." Meghan then jokingly responded: "That's why we're really here, to pitch."
