  • ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solutions is laser-focused on providing the manufacturing and power-generation sectors with a supply of low-carbon-intensity hydrogen and the burner technology to enable fuel-switching in large industrial facilities. And we’re not asking customers to do anything that we’re not doing ourselves. We’re working to develop our Baytown, Texas, facility into the world’s largest low-carbon hydrogen operation and are eager to share this know-how with customers in their energy transition. At Baytown, we expect to produce 1 billion cubic feet of low-carbon hydrogen a day. This will help run our own operations as well as supply customers with a low-carbon-intensity fuel source. Find out more about the supply we’re intent on delivering and what that means for real-world progress. Discover more at https://lnkd.in/gdkmE4ig  #realworldprogress #hydrogen

Onboarding: The next generation of Low Carbon Solutions talent In this ongoing series, we meet some of our newest talent working in the energy transition at Low Carbon Solutions. Introducing Eddy Blanton, Commercial and Business Development with CCS. Eddy’s new role in one sentence: “I work to execute commercial transactions with CCS customers.” What drew him to this role: “I’ve had a varied career, starting out in oil and gas, then transitioned to power and utilities. Carbon capture and storage aligns with these areas. I’m also an attorney by trade but then transitioned into finance and strategic transactions. So this new role strikes the right balance in using my various skill sets.” What excites Eddy about coming to work every day: “Getting things done. There’s an emphasis on execution in a thoughtful and comprehensive way. In the long term, I’ll hopefully be helping society address some of the key issues that are facing humanity right now in respect to climate change.” On balancing ExxonMobil’s deep experience in the energy industry with a start-up mentality: “ExxonMobil obviously has a tremendous history. It’s based on a culture of excellence. At the same time, this is a new industry. So it does require a little bit of a different mindset. The expectation is to drive things forward to produce accretive results but also be respectful of the processes that are in place from a long history of leading the energy sector.” His new role in one word: “Engaging.” Interested in joining Eddy to help influence the future today? • ExxonMobil now operates the largest CO2 pipeline network in the United States, with over 1,500 miles – more than 900 of which lie within the US Gulf Coast region.   And for customers seeking to reduce their emissions with carbon capture and storage, we have existing storage capacity across various strategically located onshore sites. These give us the ability to store several million metric tons annually, making carbon capture and storage a commercially viable solution to manufacturing and power generation customers seeking to reduce their emissions.   That capacity and network of pipelines is just one example of how ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solutions is advancing commercially viable, real-world progress for our customers.     Learn more at https://lnkd.in/g2-dUxkV   #realworldprogress #CCUS

  • The ExxonMobil Baytown facility in Texas is undergoing an energy transition. We’re installing new industrial burners and looking to produce low-carbon-intensity hydrogen that will allow our customers to fuel-switch and cut their emissions.     As part of our landmark alliance with Zeeco, Inc., we are installing their FREE JET® Gen 3™ hydrogen burners at Baytown, using them in combination with steam cracker technology to burn close to 100% hydrogen while minimizing NOx emissions. Both of these technologies are available to our customers. The FREE JET® Gen 3™ burners are a powerful decarbonization tool that will be available to our manufacturing customers. Our technology and infrastructure will provide manufacturing customers with the most commercially viable solution to their energy transition.     Discover more at https://lnkd.in/gYpkiBcB    #realworldprogress #hydrogen

Onboarding: The next generation of Low Carbon Solutions talent In this ongoing series, we meet some of our newest team members working in the energy transition at Low Carbon Solutions. Introducing Tulsi Patel, Critical Minerals Policy Advisor. Tulsi’s current role in one line: to bring lithium policy together at the state, federal, and global levels, then tie it to the global supply chain – which includes lithium, batteries, and EVs – and how it impacts our business. Why she chose to join Low Carbon Solutions: “I have a BS in chemical engineering and PhD in materials engineering, so the space is familiar to me as a research engineer. But from the policy side, it's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a part of this energy transition. These policies are very new and at the early stages of development. And ExxonMobil, as one of the biggest energy companies in the world, has a big voice in this space, and it’s exciting to be part of that.” Three words to describe her new role: “Challenging, fun, but ultimately impactful.” On planting seeds for the future: “We’re in it for the long game, and it’s going to take many years, especially on the policy front, to get to where we want to be. What we’re doing is planting the seeds; it’s going to be in the next 10-15 years down the road when we see the impact, and that’s exciting.” What has surprised her about joining the organization: “The thoughtfulness that goes into our projects. We’re moving so quickly every single day, yet I see that people put a lot of care into every little detail.” Interested in joining Tulsi to help influence the future today? Onboarding: The next generation of Low Carbon Solutions talent In this ongoing series, we meet some of the newest talent working in the energy transition at Low Carbon Solutions. Introducing David Keatley, hydrogen business development advisor at ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solutions. His current role in one sentence: David works on Baytown blue hydrogen and ammonia business development, helping to commercialize low carbon ammonia internationally. Why he chose Low Carbon Solutions: “I think the biggest thing is scale. The Baytown project we’re planning is the largest low-carbon hydrogen project in the world. And it’s coming at a time where the global market of carbon abatement is at an inflection point. In my previous role, I was working on addressing similar challenges in the transportation space, and we often interacted with large, established energy companies. One business that we always followed was ExxonMobil, because when ExxonMobil starts doing something, they commit to it. That's what I've seen on the inside now.” The impact he expects to make in the energy transition: “There’s a huge opportunity for industry globally to reduce carbon emissions. And being able to help facilitate this decarbonization, whether in manufacturing, power, or other industries, is super exciting.” On ramping up onto the Baytown business development team during his first week: “It was one of the busiest workweeks of my year. So definitely, it’s been good to hit the ground running. The fastest way you learn is by doing, and I learned a lot that week.” Two words to describe your new role: “I would say ‘dynamic’ but also ‘no surprises.’ This is pretty much as advertised.” Interested in joining David for dynamic opportunities to help lead the energy transition?
