The Nature Conservancy in Massachusetts reposted this
Tonyisha Harris, Climate & Energy Program Manager for The Nature Conservancy in Illinois, had the pleasure of joining colleagues like James Page and countless other professionals earlier this month at the Martha's Vineyard African American Film Festival. 📽 The festival honoring Black culture, talent and people in the film space and beyond took place at the beautiful Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts and featured celebrities like Colman Domingo, Taraji P. Henson and Sheryl Lee Ralph and countless other artists. The Nature Conservancy was eager to amplify and introduce filmgoers to Germaine Jenkins, a Black farmer seeking liberation through food systems in her film "Rooted". Tonyisha shares, "It was my first time attending and I got the chance to connect with so many talented filmmakers and professionals. I was in awe of the film festival and grateful to network with my community." Listen to the whole video to hear more about the conversations she had with attendees about climate change, its impacts on The Nature Conservancy in Massachusetts' Hoft Farm, Martha's Vineyard and Chicago alike, and her reflections on the festival and her own work in the climate space. 📹 Tonyisha Harris/TNC #MVAAFF #ClimateChange
