(IGEL)'s Class of 2024 appreciated the opportunity to visit with Will Harris and his staff at White Oak Pastures last week and learn about their approach to #regenerative agriculture. We joined the Georgia Chamber of Commerce's second annual Future of Sustainability meeting this week to support finding new solutions for businesses to lower their carbon footprint and be better stewards of the environment. From innovations in energy to Georgia’s rapidly growing electric vehicle manufacturing industry, we’re inspired by the renewed commitment to sustainability within our business community. While there is a lot of work left to do, seeing so many stakeholders come together at events like these make it clear that we’re heading in the right direction. Here at The Nature Conservancy, we're defined by our people. Our dedicated conservationists are on the ground every day working to protect and restore Georgia's precious landscapes, even in summers like these when most of us would prefer to be spending our time indoors with air conditioning. One of our most passionate and dedicated team members is our Coast and Marine Director of Conservation, Christi Lambert, who has been with us for a staggering 33 years. Our very own Coastal Climate Adaptation Director, Ashby Worley, recently participated in a panel discussing new climate funding and its impact on local communities. Here at The Nature Conservancy, we're exploring innovative solutions to make Georgia more resilient, from insuring our salt marshes to oyster reef restoration and everything in between. The climate crisis can seem daunting sometimes but bringing all of these environmental leaders together is a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we put our minds to it.
