Stock market update: Nifty Pharma index advances 0.65% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Pharma index traded positive around 11:01AM(IST)on Tuesday in an upbeat market.

Aurobindo Pharma(up 2.36 per cent), Ipca Laboratories(up 1.94 per cent), Laurus(up 1.89 per cent), Granules India(up 1.73 per cent) and Alkem Laboratories(up 1.71 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Sanofi India(down 0.06 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty Pharma index was up 0.65 per cent at 12632.9 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 30.1 points at 18227.55, while the BSE Sensex was up 77.49 points at 61245.28.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 29 were trading in the green, while 20 were in the red.

Shares of YES Bank, Suzlon Energy, Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd., IOB and UCO Bank were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of BF Investment, Krishna Defence and Allied Industries Ltd., Cords Cable Ind, Pritika Engineering Components Ltd. and TD Power Sys hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Godha Cabcon & Insul, Arihant Academy Ltd., Moxsh Overseas Educon Ltd., Uniinfo Telecom Serv and Sumeet Ind hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
