The Honorable Michael W. Amdor Memorial Law Library is a division of the District Court. The Law Library was established by County Board Resolution in 1911. The Library has been designated open to the public for limited use. The County, in collaboration with the Omaha Bar Association, and Creighton Law School maintains the office and the collection and the library is open to attorneys and the public.

The Honorable Michael W. Amdor served as a Judge of the District Court of the Fourth Judicial District of Nebraska from February of 1994 until his death on November 28, 2002. Judge Amdor was a dedicated legal scholar and supporter of the Law Library. On the eve of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Douglas County Law Library, the Douglas County Commissioners passed a Resolution approving the naming and dedication of the Law Library as the "Honorable Michael W. Amdor Memorial Law Library". A formal dedication ceremony honoring Judge Amdor was held on November 13, 2010.

The materials in the Library are available for use on the premises only, no materials may be checked out. There are copy machines available for self-service copying and scanning to a USB device. The library staff is available to assist you in using the library.
