Boath Assembly constituency is located in the Adilabad district of and falls under the Adilabad Lok Sabha constituency.
Characterized as a predominantly rural area, Boath has approximately 95.33% of its population identified as rural, according to the 2011 Census.
In the 2018 elections, Bapu Rao Rathod, representing the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (formerly Telangana Rashtra Samithi), secured victory by defeating Bapu Rao Soyam of the Indian National Congress with a margin of 6486 votes. Rathod garnered 38.99% of the total votes, totaling 61125 votes, while INC's Bapu Rao Soyam secured the runner-up position with 34.85% (54639 votes). Nadavi Raju of the BJP secured the fourth spot with 17.99% of the votes.
Despite Rathod's triumph in 2018, his vote share witnessed a notable decline from 45.39% in 2014 to 38.99% in 2018.
The incumbent MLA, Bapu Rao Rathod, a two-time representative from BRS, resigned from the party in September after being denied ticket for the upcoming assembly elections and subsequently joined the BJP. Anil Jadhav, an independent candidate in the previous elections who secured 17.99% of the total votes, has been nominated by BRS to contest from Boath.
The BJP has chosen Lok Sabha MP Soyam Bapu Rao as its candidate for the constituency.
In a change of candidacy, the Congress has replaced Vannela Ashok, initially announced as the Boath candidate in the first list, with Ade Gajender, who belongs to the Lambada community.
