There are a total of 119 constituencies in the Telangana state. The Election Commission of India has issued the schedule for the Telangana polls according to which, the date for the last nomination is November 10 and the election date is November 30. The results will be out on December 3. In the previous election, 2018, Aruna D.k. of the BJP won the election but earlier, Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy, from the Bharat / Telangana Rashtra Samithi was declared the winner of that seat. After the declaration of results in 2018, Aruna filed a case against Reddy and later, the ECI issued a directive to the Telangana chief electoral officer, the assembly secretary, and the chief secretary, instructing them to declare DK Aruna as the MLA from Gadwal. This directive aligns with the recent verdict of the high court. The high court had disqualified Reddy, who was the sitting MLA, due to submission of a false affidavit. The court stated Reddy had concealed information about his assets in the affidavit. Meanwhile, in 2014, Aruna was the winner of the election. At that time she contested the election from Indian National Congress.
