Grim Fandango Remastered Teaser

One of the most acclaimed adventure games of all time is now back, better than ever. Grim Fandango's epic story of four years in the life (or death) of Manny Calavera, travel agent to the dead, has been remastered to look, sound, and control even better than when it won GameSpot's Game of the Year award upon it's original launch. Grim Fandango still stands as a classic of the genre, with unforgettable characters and unique combination of film noir and Mexican folklore. Lucasarts' Grim Fandango Mod Makes Game Point 'N Click

Did you, like me love the Lucasarts game Grim Fandango? Were you not so impressed with the controls?  Wish the game was point 'n' click instead of arrow key controls?  your wish has come true thanks to a mod by a fan. An enterprising modder named Tobias Pfaff has created a mod for the game that changes its control scheme to a traditional point-and-click interface. Click where you want to go, and Manny will walk there automatically. “I got annoyed by the Grim Fandango‘s tank controls,” Pfaff said in a forum post, “so I made a classical point & click interface. The game is now 100% playable with mouse only (bugs to be expected, though).” It sounds like a simple change, but it’s significant for a number of reasons. First and foremost, it’s simply better. Grim Fandango‘s “tank” controls were cumbersome, making movement a chore — in particular, maneuvering over to and interacting with some of the objects in the game. It was also a challenge from a technical standpoint,

New Designed Lucasfilm Website Launched. New Star Wars Rebels Section.

Today sees the launch of the new squeaky clean and rather slick Lucasfilm website .  Featuring rolling behind the scenes photos from Indiana Jones and Star Wars the site has four main sections along the top.  Film & TV is so nice to look at with banners for each movie Lucasfilm has produced including Howard The Duck.  If you click on Star Wars you are treated to some wonderful concept artwork for the upcoming Star Wars Rebels. The "What We Do" section leads you to links to Skywalker Sound, ILM and more including Games.  Here the games section lists some the recent games such as Tiny Death Star, Angry Birds Star Wars and Battlefront.  Right at the bottom of the games section there are a few shout outs to some of Lucasarts greatest moments such as Monkey Island and Grim Fandango.  Now I might be clutching at straws here but its Grim Fandango that is singled out on the retro side and a quote mentions the game: LUCASARTS’ GRIM FANDANGO WAS THE COMPANY’S FIRST GAME TO
