John Williams Cancels This Weekends Appearance At Royal Albert Hall Sad news coming in as we learn that this weekend's UK concert at the Royal Albert Hall will no longer feature the legend that is John Williams.  Due to an illness the composer is unable to make it.  In his place will be Dirk Brossé.  The official Twitter page for The Royal Albert Hall tweeted: "Unfortunately, owing to a last-minute illness, John Williams greatly regrets that he is no longer able to join us for this concert and will be replaced by his colleague and dear friend Dirk Brossé conducting the @londonsymphony. Hans Zimmer To Appear At Royal Albert Hall In July Hans Zimmer will take part in a rare ‘in conversation’ event at the Royal Albert Hall next week, sharing the secrets of his remarkable career in the latest instalment of a groundbreaking BAFTA series. Zimmer, one of the most in-demand composers in Hollywood, will take to the stage of the Hall’s 150-capacity Elgar Room for an intimate chat about his 40-year career in films, from My Beautiful Laundrette and Rain Man to Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean and his celebrated creative collaborations with Christopher Nolan on Interstellar, Dunkirk and the Dark Knight trilogy. The event is the latest in BAFTA’s Conversations with Screen Composers series, which has brought many of the world’s finest writers of movie music to the Hall, including  Clint Mansell, John Powell, James Horner, James Newton Howard and Michael Giacchino – who memorably deconstructed, and performed, ‘Married Life’ from Up to a rapt audience. Michael Price, Metropolis, and Guy Garvey’s first movie score at Royal Albert Hall’s Festival of Film A new British black comedy starring Tom Wilkinson and soundtracked by Elbow’s Guy Garvey is one of 10 special events added to the Royal Albert Hall’s 2018 Festival of Film calendar today. Dead in a Week (Or Your Money Back), the debut feature from writer-director Tom Edmunds, which also stars Aneurin Barnard, Christopher Eccleston and Marion Bailey, will screen with a Q&A as part of the venue’s annual celebration of cinema. Also announced are live re-scores of silent classics from Fritz Lang and Charlie Chaplin, a show from improv kings Comedians Cinema Club – as they “ruin your favourite film” – and a Classic Album Sundays special with composer and music editor Michael Price, talking about his work on Sherlock, Children of Men and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. John Williams To Appear At The Royal Albert Hall In October

John Williams is set to return to the UK after a 22 year absence as it is has been announced he will perform at The Royal Albert Hall in October. The event will celebrate 60 years in movies as he conducts the London Symphony Orchestra. It's officially labelled "An Evening With John Williams in Concert" and it will be happening on Friday, October 26th.
